(d) Woody Allen It would take a lot not to have one of Woody's annual films in my tops of the year list, and this is certainly no exception, which owes a lot of its gorgeousness to cinematographer Vittorio Storaro. Essential Woody? No. But classic, gorgeous Woody all the same, and super fun, so don't miss it!
(d) Kelly Fremon Craig The reviews are right - this is the closest we've had to a John Hughes movie since his passing in 2009. A lot of it can be owed to a masterful performance from Hailee Steinfeld, who nails the mix of female teen angst and humor as good as Linda Cardellini's Lindsay character in 'Freaks & Geeks'. Superb, fun film.
